Apparently it was the guy from Yokai that wanted it to be really hard. In the interviews with him it was reported that he didn't want people to get the reward without being really dedicated. That's why it felt like Atma v3.0.It took me 753 Fates to finish all weapons, which makes a droprate of about 29.68% iirc.
You know, I imagine it this way:
SE-Employee: YOSHI! People are complaining about how short our events are!
Yoshi: Don't worry, I got this! Let them grind their souls out!
Employee: :/ ........ okay!
Well, Yo-kai Watch event got me to sub back to the game. Gotta farm them all before it ends for the mounts. Thankfully after 1 day I got all the minions and 4 of the weapons so the grind is gonna be done before it ends even at 30 medals a pop
Well, I'm not in any danger of buying vol 2 of yokai watch any day soon...![]()
This was the dumbest event ever. I HATED it.
I stopped after 4 weapons because I didn't want to spend 40 hours grinding FATES in areas where FATES barely spawn. Central Shroud? No thanks.
Western Thanalan? Are you kidding me?
I will finish tomorrow sometime, I spaced mine out and decided to get 5 medals a day through the last 3 so I have just been doing it as bored. If I hit a stretch where they were landing I would keep going and if I was getting nothing I would stop. It has helped the sanity factor a TON!!!!
See that's why I stopped. I did 220 Fates and only had 4 weapons. At that rate I would need nearly 2000 FATES to finish. It was so frustrating I nearly quit.
While I had saved outer la noscea tokens for last, I ended up doing only a handful there simply because bouncing endlessly between two fates inside a dim grey cave wore thin quickly. If I had to design the event over, I would remove the rng entirely as the amount of fates you would have to do if you got 1 legendary token every single time is more than adequate. My weapons are in storage at this point until I can stand to look at anything yokai related and I cringe every time my random minion button brings one of them out. I've given up on getting minions/weapons for alts, because while this was not hard, it was also not fun.

How true that was.Oh you sweet summer child.
When they give you more time for a grind event, they're not making it easier. When they give you more time for a grind event they're balancing around people needing that time.

There's a difference between tedious and difficult. This was not difficult. It was only mind numbingly tedious.
Since I managed to land my 13th weapon and glowy mount a few days ago (no FATE count, I felt it would be bad for morale), here are my $0.02.
1. I cleared it because the completion numbers for the NA servers were that bad on the unofficial census, and I am stubborn that way.
2. I suggest just getting the minions, and a small handful of weapons. If you go for completeness, expect it to take time.
3. My experience was that I would work a zone 8 FATEs before I would try the next. Any long dry spell got me traveling again. I would usually find one zone that actually would provide medals fairly steadily, and simply kept at it there.
4. Try to join FATE parties (from Party Finder or unofficial ones). Working with others takes some of the stress off.
5. On the later ones, set a goal for the number of medals for the day, and stick to it. 5 a day and then do other things, etc.
