Some have, yes. It's perfectly doable, but you're looking at anywhere from 800 to 1,000 fates on average if you plan to collect them all. Being that you're new, I can't say this is a good way to experience the game. All up to you though.![]()
I ended up with all weapons with 675 fates. I did VERY well in the beginning. Towards the end there were stretches of nearly 20 fates between medals. But in hindsight I had a great drop rate overall.
You've only got something like 2 weeks as there's the downtime from 3.4 releasing. To be honest, you'd need to be willing to put in at least 12 hours a day to even get close. The RNG can mean that you spend hours without even getting a single drop. :'(
I did pretty well, I'm not online so can't check exactly the number, plus I forgot to put the watch on for one or two here and there, but I clocked in at around 675 to get all 13. Normally I hate grinds, but I like doing all the events and just looked at it as doing something else while getting something else. I got 9 Levels on my AST, 2 on my WHM, 2 and my WAR, 5 on my DRK, 3 on my PLD, 2 on my BLM and 2 on me MCH. I also finished the whole of the Twin adders and got half way through the Immortal flames. So I just consider it getting lots of things I planned to do later done now while getting some cool novelty weapons, plus the Cutscene at the end and the achievement name was hilarious
Good luck to anyone still soldiering on, my you make it too. \o/
The accepted drop rate is around 30%. A grand total of 222 legendary medals is needed to complete this crazy show, so that comes out to about 733 fates. Some have completed it in less, some have taken more. It just depends on how kind RNGesus is to you. 79 FATEs to get 11 medals is definitely bad luck. But keep pushing! We can do it!
Hey dudes, I just found out this thing. I've been following that spreadsheet from reddit as a reference to get medals, I've been stuck on hovernyan for a week now, 1-2 hours a day at aleport because that spreadsheet says it's the best spot. And I had only 8.
I just ported to drybone, and got 7 within half a hour.
I think the best spots for drops differ between players, so if you are not having any luck, try a different zone.
EDIT: Just got 15 medals in 2 hours on the next weapon. Probably would have been faster if Central Thanalan's fates didn't spawn so slowly.

I recommend most people just get a few weapons for the classes they like and bail, getting them all is insanity, and not worth it. The time it takes is just too much, go play another game or something.
I've got 1 and a half weapons left. I don't know how many fates it has taken... I've capped seals a few times now though. xD
Didn't I say that too? ;PHey dudes, I just found out this thing. I've been following that spreadsheet from reddit as a reference to get medals, I've been stuck on hovernyan for a week now, 1-2 hours a day at aleport because that spreadsheet says it's the best spot. And I had only 8.

It took me 753 Fates to finish all weapons, which makes a droprate of about 29.68% iirc.
You know, I imagine it this way:
SE-Employee: YOSHI! People are complaining about how short our events are!
Yoshi: Don't worry, I got this! Let them grind their souls out!
Employee: :/ ........ okay!
