Tank duty finder EXP bonus counter productives ?

Unlike grand company seals and tomestone you can't farm EXP on 1 class to give it to another. So if you want 6to level a tank you must play as a tank and more EXP mean less time spent in queue for leveling purpose since you won't need that EXP once you hit lvl cap.

And even if you don't have the @tank@ EXP bonus, daily roulette remain a good way to farm EXP so I really doubt that many player do the daily roulette while leveling because they got that tank EXP bonus while I'm sure that many level a tank as alt and don't play him as much once they hit lvl cap.

    Whats your tought ?

What would be counter productive is getting experience points and leveling up a class that you've never even played, so that when you hit level cap you have no idea how to play that class.

I think you're overexaggering how much bonus XP you are given for the reward. While it's not insubstantial, saying that it downgrades your ability to tank because of lack of actual experience is laughable.

potd made everything else obsolete. If your objective is the faster way to 70, you go there.

About the ability to play the job in other 4/8 man content, it is another story.

hmm I never said the tank would be less competed I'm saying he will spend less time in queue.

Actualy MMO players often over think the player skill you earn while leveling. its almost irrelevant since you don't have your whole class kit. Personaly I've bought the class boost for my AST, spent a few times in PotD and now I over play 80% of the AST I group with. MMO aren't nuclear science. The time spent doing current content is usualy more important then the time spent doing obsolet ones like the leveling dungeons IMO.

Now I agree that I might see the EXP boost more important then it is but the problem might remain over GC seals and tomestone or maybe not. I'm seeking other players opinion.

If you want to entice leveling players into doing something, there's nothing they want more than exp so... I think the in need bonus makes sense. That said I'm not sure how effective it is.

Nothing they do is really gonna help the problem a ton. The damage was done when they decided to make parties groups of 4 people instead of 5+. Adding one more DPS slot alone could have cut the dps queue we see today down by around a third.

Thats a sure thing. SWtoR also went the 4 players way and queuing a sa DPS is horrible too. Everquets and Everquest 2 have 6 players groups (1tank,1healer and 4DPS/utility or 1tank,2healer and 3DPS/Utility for harder content) and I can't remember tank shortage beeing someting in both of these games. Sometimes healer was a little problem due to how hard it was to level one back in the early days of Everquest but finding a group was just easier for everyone usualy then it is in FF XIV and none of these games have a duty finder system.

Having only 2 spot for DPS/Healer in a MMO is asking for troubles.
