Getting Yokai Medals and Legendary Medals
Upon the completion of the Yokai event quest you will be granted 3 items, a yokai watch, 1 medal, and a Medallium. You should purchase the first minion whose weapon you wish to get with your free Yokai medallion immediately and summon the minion before you start grinding out Fates. In order to get Medallions the following criteria must be met:

Legendary Medallions

• You must have a Yokai minion summoned while completing Fates
• You must be in the correct area correlating to your Yokai. This information can be found in the Yo-kai Medallium in your Key Items.

Regular Medallions

• You must have the Yokai Watch equipped to the class you'll be playing
• If you have a Yokai Minion out, you must be in one of their areas
• The Fates you complete must be within Black Shroud, Thanalan, or La Noscea

*In my experience, I was not getting normal yokai medals until I went to the correct area for my summoned minion. After doing so, the regular Yokai medal drop rate was 100%*

Remember that there are a few rules to remember about having your minion out:

1. You cannot have a Companion Chocobo out
2. You must resummon your minion when you log in
3. You must resummon your minion whenever your character dies

You dont need a minion summoned to get normal medals. I am doing fates in East Shroud and get 1 per fate completed with no minion out. You only need the minions out and be in the correct location to get the legendary medals for the weapons.

It's similar to the Patched Atma grind. It really doesn't take long to get the Legendary medals, it's just that the amount needed increases.

You dont need a minion summoned to get normal medals. I am doing fates in East Shroud and get 1 per fate completed with no minion out. You only need the minions out and be in the correct location to get the legendary medals for the weapons.

If you do have a minion out though, I don't think you get normal medals unless you're in the right area.

7 legendary medals took about an hr and 34 fates but then again RNG is RNG. I'll update it after finishing the 9 medals for the 2nd weapon.

Can you store weapons into the Armoire? Inventory space is a luxury for me unfortunately and being a collector, limited space sucks.

I'm guessing they will eventually make them able to go into the armoire, but normally you can't put event items in there when they immediately come out.

They adjusted the system so that any item that can go into the armoire can go in immediately now, but if it can't they can't. Hopefully either they can or SE makes them storable in the future. Or maybe as a cheap re-purchase from the salvager at the very least.

So apparently you need 257 medals for all weapons. Am I the only one thinking even if it were guaranteed for each fate 257 for this is a bit absurd? And hell no to 10x that. Not even counting the extra minion purchase costs.

You can store the weapons AND watch in the armoire.
