Wow... Lets take a reskin Fat Chocobo and make it look like a Moogle, not even trying anymore huh guys? lol But HOLY twelve 30$ for a reskin!? (2 month sub worth) There going to make bank off of this seeing its digital info that cost nothing to reproduce. The Odin mount was a bit worth it because it was unique, this though..? Not so sure. And why is it that 2 seater mounts always have to be locked behind something and not earned in-game, I'm surprised there isn't one for commendations yet seeing that 100% depends 3/7 other random people voting for you *sigh*

Mentor roulettes mount is 2 seater that you can earn in game.
Refer a Friend has 2 mounts that are 2 seaters that you can earn in game by referring people and them paying for a sub.

I went to bed last night knowing this thread would exist. I am happy.

I personally dont care that the game has a cash shop, and that they put random things in it. People have been saying that the cash shop will ruin the game since what, 2.2? 2.3? Whenever it was added over 2 years ago. Its STILL just the same types of items, at the same prices its always been, and they don't really even update it that often, once every few months, with like 1 or 2 items.

All this whining is just kind of silly to me.

Thankfully FF14 is not the only mmo on the market and we can look at other trends to see a possible, and probable, end result of the cash shop.

For example in WoW the first cash shop mount was introduced during it's expansion WotLK. Fast forward three expansions later to WoD and the result is that ALL of the unique mounts are put in the cash shop, with the devs even flat out admitting they spent more time and effort on them because they want them to look flashy. Meanwhile what do people get in-game for their sub? Recolors after recolors after recolors of boars and wolves. Even very grindy rep rewards are often just another recolor even when it made absolutely no sense for that faction to award that mount *coughLaughingSkullcough*. I think by the end there were 14 boar mounts which all looked virtually the same and had very poorly programmed running animations too because the devs lazily used a far larger mount model as it's "skeleton"

It was not until people complained en masse and started boycotting the Mystic Runesaber mount that Blizz made a few more unique mounts obtainable in game.

If you don't think that putting things for money instead in the game is bad, then well???? Of course I'm a bit surprised, I can only feel bad that the community accept this kind of thing. Wait for the next mount that costs 50 dollars and is exclusive too. Don't forget the future boosters and leveling potions, after all ~every mmo has those~~.

Oh no, you know, Eifahlwyn, the current f2p model and all their cons exist today because things are that way, not because people support it and make it grow.

It a pure vanity item which I am perfectly fine with being in the mogstation. There has been two new mounts added to the game very recently (DD head mount and YoKai mount) plus also one new one added to mogstation (fat moogle). That's two in game and one in mogstation in a very short period of time.
