They have big moogles already ingame so why didn't they just use such a big one as the carrier? Why does it need to be so fat? @Bourne_Endeavor: You say that FF14 has shown the least amount of items in their store but is it really fair to compare that amount of items to games like Black desert or even WoW? BD needs their cash shop items to survive and even if they don't get content out regularly they still update it and like you said yourself you don't truly need to use their cash shop or this new "sub" to play the game and you have lots of things to do there too. WoW opened its cash shop around three years ago but was running this game without one for 7 years or more, so even if they have more mounts in it (which is only four more than FF14 including the wedding mount) they took way longer to include their cash shop in their game than FF14 did.

I would be kinda okay with the CS if they would put the money back into the game (which none of us know if they do that or not) and that we would get even more content with it. Like three dungeons and something new on top of that..not suddenly two dungeons and a new thing. Its just that right know it feels like that money is used to finance other SE projects and not the game itself and that we get less now than more. (But these are no facts just my feelings on this..)
Yes. Because no F2P game can provide near the equivalent content because they don't have a guaranteed source of revenue. Sure, you can play them, however you will often be at a severe disadvantage if you want to participate in their endgame. The way BDO is structured, you basically have to pay or you'll simply be outpaced by those who do. WoW also existed for seven years prior. Companies aren't going to adopt old business models. A primary reason WoW opened its cash shop is due to a decline in subs and the current shift in trends. Nowadays, DLC and Cash Shops are the norm. Like Welsper noted, WoW released before the surge of online shopping took effect. That all being said, what we pay isn't going to more Cash Shop items, but consistent constant updates. Everything else is a separate thing. Supposedly, the Cash Shop is what paid for the EU server expansion.

And it isn't as though FFXIV doesn't offer free glamour, mounts and minions. If they did, I would feel differently. But two unique mounts in a span of nearly three years isn't a big deal imo.

Just to be clear, I don't hate SE for their cash shop and I know its here to stay. But it would be nice if they keep it only for recolors, old event items and things like color pots and not put new mounts in there. If they dont get any feedback on it and everyone just keeps silent than they will not do anything at all, but maybe just maybe our voices will at least change a little bit and if not we can at least say that we did everything we could.
They do get feedback though. A recent thread translating the JP forums cited they wanted more unique Cash Shop items and despise palette swaps because they're boring. The fact Sleipnir alone sold nearly a million dollars worth say it all. People seem to want them, and are willing to pay.
