Oh, I didn't know you worked at Square Enix, care to tell me what they have planned for 3.4 and 3.5, 4.0 as well if you can spare the time. Thank you!![]()
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
Oh sorry I didn't know you are unable to notice the re textures.
Hell even the side moogles are existing assets none of it is new it's all re purposed artwork, well besides the actual re texturing of the model skeletons for the main mount. I'm not saying it took no work I'm just pointing out it's evident where the corners were cut on a premium $30.00 product that costs more than the game itself <_<.

A premium product no one is being forced to buy. That is in the game for looks. That isn't pay to win.Oh sorry I didn't know you are unable to notice the re textures.

Hell even if I was ok with buying this kind of stuff I'd never spend my dollar on something so half baked. If your going to charge the going price for a decent video game you can offer a bit more than re textured art can't you?
Like I said earlier at least I'm not concerned that they are spending too much time making these cash grab items. I prefer it this way than them actually spending time to craft something actually worth 30 bucks.

Honestly Jynx, that's not how modeling works. The moogle isn't a re texture, it's the same STYLE but not the same model. Same with the seat. The seat and moogle do use the bomb chairs skeleton, but the model and textures needed to be made by an artist. No amount of retexturing will change the actual polygons used in the model itself. (Polygons are basically the elements that make up side model, the skin of the object itself, the thing you see.) A retexture is something like the parade, fat, and ofc chocobo mounts. Same model just different color.Oh sorry I didn't know you are unable to notice the re textures.

Guess I should elaborate.
They are using the base assets not retexturing per say but cutting corners still.
Minor edits have been made to the chocobo and chain models but it's painfully obvious where they started to model from.
I work in this industry as a tradesman and it's easy to spot thus kind of stuff to me at least. I get the reason behind it to minimize workload but for such a premium price people should expect a bit more.
Next time you hop on your fat chocobo look at how similar the animations are where the polygons have just been deformed for minor form changes.
This just reminded me of all of the animated Disney movies that have reused scenes (cells?) for various movies. I don't know the lingo here, so pardon, but example for you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbjVjZrrE3wGuess I should elaborate.

But back to mounts, I just realized that the Bennu and Twintania mounts share the same base as well. I'm personally not that bothered by things like this, but I can appreciate wanting some unique models and animations. In my mind, most everything has been taken from XI anyway, so what's a bit more recycling :P
Many many many monsters in ffxiv use the same "Skeleton" I've lost count how often they reuse the goobue. But back to mounts, I just realized that the Bennu and Twintania mounts share the same base as well.
