No i sense Cabalabob has confusing understand human relationship that he come to said he isn't straight. first I am christian and since understand thing like david and jonathan of bible. the fact David had 4 wives might explain alot to some folks. second that people through history both men and women have had friend that the consider as close as blood without having to be sexuality relationship. the fact people often run away think relationship the are between men and woman have sexuality of any kind make people stupid. sadly this what culture foolishness done to are world alot time i seen people on facebook think lightning and hope are romanticly involve which doesn't show any of games. it just resent time we run away think a close friendship has to sexuality in nature i blame Hollywood for that.

i bet more Aymeric de borel more romantic interest in Lucia. seem to me first time we came to Ishgard you could see that.

i think what this thread show more that people have different view on how character in ffxiv are i like see aymeric more as a brother like character to warrior of light other have other view on him.

Then believe that you have a brother like relationship with Aymeric XD Let the others decide on how they want their relationship with Aymeric to be and respect it. My signature confirms how I view my relationship with the leader of Ishgard :>

Honestly OP, you can't be a "killjoy" since people are going to think what they want about Aymeric, especially since nothing is confirmed in game
(and even when it is............you won't stop people)

It's fine if you see him as a brother. It's also fine if I want to just...touch his face in every cutscene.

Aside from Haurchefant (In the Japanese version, he openly flirts with the Warrior of Light, in the Western version he is more like a fanboy then a potential love interesst.) and some minor npcs (like the Mi'qotes at the spa), none act in a romantic way. I like Aymeric aswell, but as someone who has seen the cutscenes with both females and males, its very evident that to Aymeric, the Warrior of Light is a friend, one who he can depend on. When Aymeric invites you for a drink, its more like two mates who fought toghter side by side and at the end of their duty, they deicide to go to a pub and have a drink.

As far as I can see, the only cannon romantic partner for the Warrior of Light is another (player) Warrior of Light, the npc act in a casual non romantic way towards the Warrior of Light. There are ships in the game, but unless you are roleplaying, its only npc.

An example:

1. Gaius van Baelsar and Livia sas Junius. We know that Livia was in love with Gaius, but we have no clue if he felt the same way.
2. Tataru and Wedge. Wedge is smitten with Tataru. Tataru is too serious to think about romance, but who knows, maybe one day they will be a couple. (those two remind me of Happy and Carla from Fairy Tail)
3. Aymeric de Borel and Lucia. We have no clue if Aymeric is dating anybody, be he is known in Ishgard for being a handsome Elezen, so I reckon he is either not interested in dating or he has a lover. We all know Lucia has her reasons for supporting Aymeric, in most anime, mangas and comic books, these type of characters tend to fall in love with the person they admire. So who knows, maybe Aymeric might not want to date others, because he is already in love with Lucia or they might already be dating.
4. Moenbryda and Urianger. Moen flirts openly with Urianger and its obvious that they have a bond.

Other major npcs have more of a family relation like Raubhan and Nanamo or Papalymo and Yda or feelings that came from duty Thrancred and Minfilia. Then there are npcs that are a couple, like the gay Mi'qote and Hyur (I think it was a hyur).

So when it comes to the Warrior of Light, unless the love interest is the Japanese version of Haurchefant, the only lover is another player character.


PS: Dont get me wrong, I ship Aymeric with my character aswell, but from what I am seeing, Aymeric sees us only as a friend.
