And if there's no room for variance within a build, which I don't see being the case either. Each class/role will have what is a generally accepted "Optimal" build but that doesn't mean there isn't room for some deviation dependent on play style.
I dont build my character to bend to the will of other players.
You're not going to get far if you don't respect anyone's opinion but yours. Expecting you to make compromises would be certainly quite elitist.I'm glad I'm not on your server or have an elitist ls then :3
Sure, it's not like the same rules would apply here. We're only dealing with human beings after all.
It is a game. My character is MY own. What is the point of having your own character if you can't build it to the way that pleases you? It doesn't make sense. I am not one to conform to others. Also, I'm not some idiot who just puts stats anywhere. Obviously I would build thuamaturge towards int and conjurer towards mnd and not add things like str and dex for a mage build.
Also if I dont want to deal with said people or if said people dont want to deal with me, I dont care I'm not going to cry in a corner. I dont do endgame with anyone other than my ls anyways.
It's your life and you do whatever you want with it. Usually you'll get better results if you don't act all selfish all the time though.
It is a game where you play with other people and need them to progress forward. To think that just because all you see are 3D characters people would simply deal with you playing however you want without consequences would be quite shocking. That doesn't work in real life, why would it work here? Just because you can't see these people? They are real, believe me.
This is only a concern when the way you build your character affects others as well. You can be a goth or a hippie or a nerd but if you suddenly decide to not follow the norms of the society you'll get shit for it. People simply aren't going to bother dealing with you. Here you expect them to do so, when they have no reason to.What is the point of having your own character if you can't build it to the way that pleases you?
You'll be forever restricted to the small group of people being capable of dealing with your kind, so yeah- better not bitch about it when somebody doesn't accept you to his or her group. You had it coming.
Well as long as I'm able to play my role effectively why should it matter? Shoot, I can pretty much heal during Ifrit hard mode wearing nothing but a pumpkin head and swmisuit. When I'm not being silly, I use a Felt Robe (green) while healing instead of the red robe that has 6 mnd. Am I gimp for losing out on ONE healing potency? I dont think so.
Your definition of "effectively" may be different from others'. Just like what melee RDM's used to say back in XI, that they can do their job "effectively" when all of them became shit at their job just so they could play as unique butterflies, without an exception.
If you aren't willing to bend for others don't expect others to bend for you either.
