    Also what most people here seem to be forgetting is that they've already announced their plan and that's pretty much how it's going to be. Doesn't matter how much you don't like manual stat allocation, the fact stands that we're getting bonus points on top of the current automatic allocation.

    i think the old system was broken as hell and shouldnt be brought back but if they are i hope the tweek it up so classes dont get unbalanced again like before

    I hope they continue to allow the use of the automatic system as well. I don't really care for stat building myself to a fine point. I would rather just enjoy the game.

    Why do people want to spend more time adjusting their stats then already is? Materia, gear, and traits are plenty. Spending more time doing unfun things makes for an unfun game.

    Oh boy, it'd sure be a great idea to completely invalidate the entire concept of stats on gear again.

    Needless to say, they never said the stat allocation system was coming back, they said there'd be limited, class-specific stat allocation. Which is fine, as long as it's properly limited.

For instance, you're not supposed to ever emphasize survivability unless you're in a tanking position, so any LNC putting points into anything other than STR will find much resistance from other players.

    While that may very well be true, I don't think your example will be accurate. While survivability is not an emphasis for DPS jobs, you can't exactly completely ignore it either and become a glass cannon that dies in one hit.

    They may also impose other limitations such as diminishing returns.

    I'd rather have stats either completely or mostly automated. I don't want to deal with melees who die because LOL I PUT ALL MY POINTS IN STR!
