i would love a wardrobe system, and maybe being able to glamour stuff from other classes onto yours (like melee/tank gear on healers/casters etc.) that would be pretty neat too, since it's purely cosmetic after all!

The Master of Puns.

Oh yes I forgot that feature, the way it was set up the armor was separated in heavy and light or medium so PLD, DRK and WAR would all be able to share/interchange. DRG/BRD/NIN would be medium and the all others would be light armor sets. Something along those lines. Nothing was bought from RL store like Mog station but you could buy additional space in the "special chest" that the glam gear was kept in. I really loved that game but true after Moria it started getting a bit too ....sigh
Some costumes were in shop. Although you could buy everything from shop without using real money if willing to grind enough.Oh yes I forgot that feature, the way it was set up the armor was separated in heavy and light or medium so PLD, DRK and WAR would all be able to share/interchange. I vote +1 for the wardrobe system in LOTRO. Right now only crafters can use the glamor system, and since I don't craft or harvest I cannot use it. In LOTRO everyone can use the wardrobe system, whether they craft/harvest or not.
I have the same issue with orchestrions rolls, which I cannot use because I don't craft. In LOTRO everyone can buy music for their houses.
In other words, as a non crafter in FF XIV, I'm screwed on so many levels.

This is not entirely right - Non-crafters can "use" the finished glamour prisms (and orchestrion rolls). They just cannot get them without a crafter. This is made to "keep crafters relevant", aka screw DoW/DoM only players because crafting itself cannot stand on its own, unlike battle content and thus, needs purpose beyond itself.

Considering that I don't craft or harvest or play the market, that means that I'm always broke and therefore do not have any gils to spend on crafters. Hard to keep the crafters "relevant" in that situation if I don't have any gils for the orchestrion rolls or the glamor system. The only place where I've spent gils is for my private room and furnitures and other stuff for my room. This is not entirely right - Non-crafters can "use" the finished glamour prisms (and orchestrion rolls). English is NOT my mother language, French is. Use my recruitment code MV9YGNXD before paying your sub and get cool items. http://sqex.to/Cz9

I've got 26 mil and im not a crafter or gatherer by any sense of the word.
FFXIV should not copy anything from anywhere that includes their own series, but come up with something creative. I don't mind basing the idea on something that might be from older games but a 1 to 1 copy of it, no just no.
Maybe people dont realize that this game takes 80% of its ideas from other games already....sadly it executes most of them pretty poorly. And the things that the game tends to produce out of originality tend to fail as well (Diadem/LoV). Story, music and some of the gear designs are good though. For some people, that's enough.

Playing with barbies? Well, sure. You could also compare it to painting miniatures, designing clothes, character models, or even buildings. Creating something to make it visually appealing by your own standards is not a feminine trait. Most people do care how things look, and a lot of people enjoy the other gameplay aspects more if they like the way their character moves, the clothes they wear and the areas the quests/raids are in.
And yes, I do support improvements to the glamour system to make our characters more customizable.
