if a friend of mine buy the game for 20 dollars to try it out https://store.na.square-enix.com/pro...rn-pc-download , does the "sub" already include? or he has to pay for another 30 days? also does ARR works? or does it has to be heavenwards?

They get 30 days free with the purchase of the game. Once they register it to thier account they will want to use your recruit a friend code before they pay for a sub or add a game time card. For you and them to get the items they have to pay for game time, if you want them immediately they have to use a game time card which will add 60 days to their account for $30.

They can do just ARR does not have to be the combo pack with HW.
