Then make it an option to turn it on or off whenever you want. I don't care what they do, but they need to do something.

New anti-RMT tools: 3.4 will bring a system where you can directly report it to accumulate the reports on the server and throw them into jail (this is already used in DQX).

I get why you want to add this ability but how do you make friend on the game if you can't whisp anyone ? oO
I mean, it happens to me all the time to whisp people when they make a PF to get more infos / to offer help when i see someone having issues with a quest or to offer someone to group to do FATEs together. I now it's just the ability to do so but, if everyone uses it, how do we get to know new people ?

There are a lot of ways they could do this. It could be a slider with a level block. So you could block anyone under lvl10 or w/e the level the RMT uses.

Something like this can already be done with /busy. Only problem is that it blocks everything.

or SE could get a handle over it themselves so we don't have to resort to bandaid workarounds.

Yeah but some RMT are more than lvl 10, i've seen some of them in Ulda'h, all BLM, all rubbish name (but not Roe ) and all stuffed with the BLM attire oO so it woul not work with them
plus, i don't want to white knight SE but i don't see how they can remove them all, really, ^^"

That's why it's a slider though, you can increase or decrease it if you want.

Maybe they could turn off all the RMT filters temporarily if you have a PF up. There are many ways they could do it.

Linkshell? /say? /shout? /tell has a convenience to reach across distances, but I've met new people in game and keep /tell turned off entirely. Seriously? If I don't know you already, I don't want to receive a personal message from you only to me. Meet me in a different way first.
