    Addressing the 90001 and 90002 Issues

    I think it's pretty clear to everyone that there are some fairly huge connection issues since the launch of 3.35 this week. The fact that they're so widespread is a fairly good indication that these aren't due to client side issues, but are server side. The reason should be fairly clear: The servers cannot handle cramming about 90% of their players into South Shroud at the same time. These issues could be easily addressed by just making Palace of the Dead accessible through a menu instead of an NPC, whether it's the Duty Finder or a separate menu of its own. It could also be taken care of by adding extra instances of South Shroud to accommodate all the extra traffic, like we've already seen SE do in the Heavensward zones. It likely wouldn't solve everything, but it would take a lot of strain off of the clearly bogged down servers.

    What's a huge connection issue compared to a normal connection issue ? Either you're connected or you're not connected, I don't think connection can be measured by size. It could be measured by reliability but not by size.

    Not had any problems with 90k in Quarrymill at all. I wonder if there's packet loss or a misalignment of the client-server connection that occurs when the user's network or hardware is exposed to a lot of data. The result being the server closing the connection as it classes it as being "out if bounds".

    It'd be very interesting to collate data from the users experiencing 90ks in Quarrymill to see who provides their internet, the speed, the packet loss & their network hardware. There's also a potential for the player interface hardware (ie the PC or console) can't handle the information.

    Does the 90k also happen if you reduce additional player & NPC data as far as possible (eg disabling their names & actions)?
