Mysterious Milita

I was riding out to Coerthas today and not far from Camp Emerald Moss came across this mysterious man who issued me a challenge. It was a straightforward request, kill as many imperials as possible. I did so and was not the only one, many other adventurers stood by my side.

After all the imperials fell I was left wondering. Where did this event come from? I've seen nothing about it in any patch notes and the npc was gone as soon as I collected my reward. The enemies were of the same level as the camp so I assume that these npcs are popping all over Eorzea. Any one else spotted these mystery npcs or know when this started?

You may, on occasion see an npc appear in each of the three towns who shouts to all nearby about an attack by the garleans, when you talk to him he will tell you where the attack is being made and the general size of the attacking force... when this happens an event like the one you witnessed occurs... they have been happening seemingly at random for several months now.

Yep, has been going on for two major patches now. In fact there are several topics on this very forum about it. Might wanna look around first.

Been back in-game for about a month and I'm still yet to see this happen! Damn you!!!
