Disappointed in Youkai Watch

Yo-Kai Watch isn't really my thing. Tried the demo, it was kinda weird. But that's okay!

Is it a thematic clash with the rest of the game? A little. But so are things like flying fat chocobos, the ability to ride raid bosses, every little bit of the slapstick comedy exploited by Hildibrand, and so much more. The integrity and the immersion of this game got destroyed a long time ago.

I guess what I'm trying to say is...

If you really want to keep the game full immersive, it gets boring within 1 year.

So many people in this topic are so mad about getting content. No one really cares if you're gonna sulk and afk in Idylshire while other people have fun with something new to both the game, and to some of the players who have never seen Yokai Watch. Quite frankly, come Tuesday no one will really care what you think I'm sorry to say.

Purely personal opinion here: I don't consider grinding FATEs that are already in the game for slightly different rewards to be "new content."

Now if they added completely new FATEs with music and enemies themed around Yokai Watch that we had to kill? I would consider that to be "new content."

I'll admit, the Whisper mount is a bit ridiculous but so is the giant dandelion puff ball you can get. As for the minions, I think the majority don't look bad and you could think of them as children's toys in Eorzea. The weapons, I think only two of them are meh. Sure, it's a little out of context but we can make it work if we just use our imagination and have fun. Mostly.....just have fun.

I'm not agreeing with the OP but you guys comparing Miqo's in swimsuits to a completely FF-unrelated event are holding no water. There's a massive difference. Also, the OP may have had a problem with the other events too such as Dragon Quest. Just because they've done this before doesn't mean he can't dislike this event.

I personally don't really care about it either way, I'll probably even glam some of the rewards if they look nice.

Well, the argument was it was breaking his immersion/the game's lore (when there are already many immersion breaking elements in the game/things that do not make sense lore-wise). Even if they exclusively added FF-related events, it doesn't mean that they would fit into the lore of FFXIV/not break immersion. *shrugs* So, I was just pointing out that the argument didn't really make sense. Basically, it's just "I only want FF fan service in my game ".

He's completely allowed to dislike the event, just as people are allowed to like it.
