On a serious note;
I'm excited for this event, my daughter loves Yokai Watch and she's been excited to see me catch them in game. Some players do have kids and share their gaming experience with them.
Get over it OP.

I'm happy about the fate part, finally a reason to tackle the last 1k fates until the 10k achievment
Those are staple things though. Immersion breaking would be the recycled pulse knights with Pulsian language written on their front, a language that doesn't exist in EorzeaIs there something people will NOT be disappointed with in this game? Geez.
This is a crossover event to get something otherworldly to the game - basically a promotion yea (and yes, that was basically the Lightning, Dragon Quest and the FFXI event too!). It's a limited event anyway.
If you think fanservice breaks the lore, we wouldn't even have Bahamut/Alexander/All the past bosses because he's sort of "fanservice" too?
I subbed again just for this Youkai Watch Event, then it's back to Phantasy Star Online 2
Meanwhile while people complain about immersion I guarantee there's atleast someone in this thread who plays Warrior and goes around in dungeons in their metallic gold wedding dress.
Because the ability to have Lightning and Shantoto break through dimensions and time is so realistic?
We haven't seen the quest about it yet, therefore we don't know how it will fit here.

I've never even heard of this yokai watch or w/e... only know about it as some sort of watch catching pokemon rip off thing, from what the clerk at my local EB Games described it. I admit, I won't be actively participating in it for the simple reason I already have too much on my to do list, to worry about farming Fates. I will do the weekly Fate challenge for the xp obviously... If I get a minion or something... great. If I don't, meh...
Too many people complain about one thing, others defend and it just keeps going on and on and on... Simple thing is, each person who plays has their own account for which they pay for. If one person wants to do this event, that's their right to do so. Conversely if someone doesn't want to do it, that's fine. Just because you don't like it KeluBehemoth for it's 'lore breaking'... that's fine, that's your choice and stance. You shouldn't be attacking others for wanting to do it because they like it. It's a big game... play how YOU want and DO what YOU want... just don't try and force your opinion/stance onto others because it's quite obvious... that people disagree with you, quite vehemently.
I think the minions are cute even though I've never watched the show or played the game, and I like some of the weapon designs so... to each their own? *shrugs* I'm looking forward to it.![]()
I hate that term on MMORPGs play as you want. I am sorry but no. If you want to play as you want go play an offline game that is not designed at working with other players. Unfortunately this game is about working with others and sometimes playing in a way you would not find the best, but overall it helps your team so you say feck it and just get on with it.It's a big game... play how YOU want and DO what YOU want... just don't try and force your opinion/stance onto others because it's quite obvious...
Would people in this thread stop using the straw-man that because theirs other immersion destroying stuff in the game that adding more isnt an issue. Its nonsense, I dont want that stuff in the game either and so is saying you dont have to do it, I dont want to see this crap in the game and I will see it regardless whether I take part in it or not.
To the people defending it, I hope the next completely unrelated to FF marketing cash grab campaign by SE is something you dont like, then maybe you'll understand why people don't want elements from outside FF creeping into the game. How about Disney characters wandering around, or a quest with an NPC who insist you drink a mountain dew to quench your thirst? How about a big billboard in limsa with 'Drink Coke' emblazoned on it? What is your limit of irrelevant marketing bullshit?
I pay for my account, therefore I can play how and do what I want... within reason that is. There are parts of the game which do not require nor need others. If I want to just do FATES or spend my time crafting, they are solo for the most part therefore do not affect others. Granted there are circumstances when you need to work in a team, in which knowledge of your particular role is crucial. I apologize as that is what I meant to say.I hate that term on MMORPGs play as you want. I am sorry but no. However the last part of my quote you used, is still valid. People should NOT try and force their own opinion/stance onto others... in this thread, the yokai event.
While I can concede some of your points... ultimately it's up to SE to decide on whether to or not do a event in conjunction with another company/franchise. In those circumstances all one can do is make a personal choice on whether to do the event or not to.Would people in this thread stop using the straw-man that because theirs other immersion destroying stuff in the game that adding more isnt an issue. For the record, I'm not defending SE's decision to do this event nor am I against it. To be honest, I have plenty of other things to do in the game, than to worry about this sort of thing.
