This game likes to stick to a role instead of a theme. Garuda = range | Ifrit = melee | Titan = Tank. There's nothing that is actually special for each one. People thinking that each avatar should 'fit' into this particular mold are honestly not thinking about how the class should be played. Going back to wow's warlock, you have the same thing, but then if you look at demonology warlock even now since they added even more pets, you have distinctive themes per pet outside of what each one can do. Voidwalker is your usual tank, felhunter or whatever that dog thing is has a dispel and interrupt. Imp has range can can cleanse. The main issue that this game has is that there's no real crowd control, so not only is summoner stuck in this 3 trick pony deal, but alot of other classes are since everyone is a one-man army and doesn't have to really do much outside of their rotation.
