    Multiple materia melding

After 5 unsuccessful attempts, I was finally able to meld 2 bloodthirst materia IV's into a Cobalt Cuirass red! After the first piece was added, the second piece's probability of melding was ~17% depending on the amount of HP the materia had. Higher HP materia decreased the probability by 0.5-1%. It also helped slightly to affix the materia that gave the lower HP first. I hope this helps anyone who wants to try this in the future. Good luck.

    P.S.

I checked on the probability of doing a third materia and it was at 7%

    No truth to this.

Re-created the doc - Data is a little old, I have since gathered a bit more data.

The original post that started this doc, unfortunately I forgot the link on this forums so I can't credit the original fella who got all the T3/T4 values.

According to official statement in "Ask the devs", stats will boost quality of end product.
My own experience indicates this to mean the "average" quality so it is still random and it only becomes noticeable if you meet the craftsmanship requirements and/or the level requirements. Didn't dig up much on this.

Crafting stats however can affect both the ease and the quality of crafting.

yeah , know about the effect of stats on crafting. I have been wondering about the effect of stats on materia and figured this was a good place to ask. I hit 49 yesterday on arm and have been looking forward to trying multi melding.

No effect on materia probability whatsoever.

Nothing affects it probability at the moment except:
    1. Sequence of attachment (lower grade -> higher grader has higher probability than the reverse)
    2. Grade of Materia (Using Tier is useless, split each Tier into 4 grades)
Note that not all materias have all 16 grades.
    3. Number of materia already attached.
