Post-Palace Questions (SPOILERS)

I think the layout of Tam Tara is such that he could easily have seen Avere as he left. It depends on how quickly we clear out the final trash packs and how quickly he can run, but the first part of the dungeon does overlook the center stage where we fight Avere... It wouldn't be hard to catch a glimpse while escaping...

Wouldn't be surprise if he knows she called it Avere as she was rather vocal about it and we probably told him afterwards.

So wait after the whole thing I don't get something, why wasn't the Avere primal head not with her battling alongside her? Also what the heck happened to her eye?

Killing him in Tam-Tara HM most likely released all of the souls Edda gathered for him, so he was reduced to the size of a minion. He was also closer to being a Voidsent than a Primal.

As for her eye, who knows? That's like asking why her name is Blackbosom and not Pureheart.

I wonder if our robed figure might be the character from the little story played out in the Minion Log...

For those that don't know, go over to the Wind-up Succubus, the description tells of a Gridanian Goldsmith who was hung for ritual summoning... If you then go over to the Puff of Darkness, the story continues, his grave was found empty... Same with the Wind-up Echidna, and presumably Wind-up Calofisteri (my lots suck)... The newest Avere is also decidedly minion-y in design...

At the very least I'd hope the Gridanian Goldsmith to make an appearance... Could make for an interesting puppet based boss battle... The bosses were mostly recycled with a few changes (f40 is a wonderful reskin of Ascian Prime), so I could imagine a fight borrowing from Calcabrina... Depending on how silly we want to get, he is a Goldsmith... Could be the the Yin to Godberts Yang...

There's also the other "Edda" party... The one we see outside Sastasha (Hard)... I'd rather they be alive and well though, I think it could make for a nice redemption story if they're also going through Palace of the Dead, and they actually start treating each other better as a result...

That minion of hers probably *is* her missing eye. Ahriman [in our world] are Voidsent that possess someone's [dead] eye... (like how Succubi and Mindflayers possess the dead as a whole to manifest)

Its been soooooo long since I did the Tam Tara (Hard) quests, I can't remember the dialog post-dungeon (or pre-dungeon, could be something there too) at all.

Does he mention anything about seeing her? Besides that scare he got of her right after we exit and he runs away...


If he doesn't...I do wonder whats up with the inconsistencies between his time in the Deepcroft, and what he says now (as an aside, I don't think we've seen him since he ran off). Doesn't necessarily mean he's behind it (his dreams of Edda could have been accurate concerning her and her Voidsent pet's looks) but it is suspicious...

He's part of the second last boss, he's stuck in the middle and a "Spare Body" is trying to kill him while orbs continue to fly at him to kill him as well. After this boss fight, he runs away to go "outside" according to his words. Here is his exact dialog from after the fight.

"<huff> <puff> I thought I was done for... I owe you one..." and then "I... I can't stand being here any longer. I'll see you outside!"

Now the layout of Tam Tara does allow people who are at the entrance to look down onto the center stage, so he could have possibly seen the Avear's head voidsent from there. But if I was kidnapped by an old friend who was obsessed with the decapitated head of their ex-fiance, was taken to a crypt crawling with zombies, ghouls and voidsent and put into a situation where I was moments away from death if it wasn't thanks to the Warrior of Light arriving just in time to kill the dullahan trying to kill me, I really wouldn't even look behind me or around when trying to escape. I would leg it so fast that I wouldn't even pay attention to what's in front of me. He's a Lalafell as well, he would need to get closer to the edge than a normal person to look down into what's going on in the center stage.

I was planning on doing Tam Tara Hard again later to check out this theory, but I haven't had the time with so much stuff in game to do. But I think it is a possibility since all we have is Paiyo's word that he escaped and wasn't in fact trying to get revenge on Edda after he left us after the boss fight.

I've run that dungeon way too much. (but yes, it would be somewhat easy to see whatever is on the central platform as you enter or leave...if you look that way anyway. The path from where he was trapped to the exit runs along a "cliff" that overlooks it. But, it is also a bit of a distance away, and if you're scared...you'll jsut see some figures there, not really what they are.)

I'm looking for what he says before and after that could address this inconsistency. Not sure its there though :\

It's entirely possible that he saw the floating Avere head during the short while before we got into the dungeon as well.
