    [REQUEST] New Fight Able companions

    Like the title says. At the moment we have a chocobo that can join us into battle. Just for doing fates or kill random mobs around the world or even against Hunts. I would love to see other companions doing the same thing like maybe Griffin? Or Odin's Horse or maybe behemot?

    Just an idea and a bit variety

    We are getting GC companions in 3.4, not many details have come out, but tune into the next live letter and we will very likely get more info.

    I'd like;

    1) XIIs Gambit System adapted for Companions, because my Chocobo is very very dumb...

    2) XIs Trusts system, that lets you summon various NPCs as compansions...

    The Trusts style companions could give some love to things like the old Class/Job quest NPCs who've kinda been forgotten. They'd be fairly static in their appearance/skill set, while the current Chocobo Companion would be more customizable. I think that strikes a fairly nice balance...

    Exactly why I want to lug him around as a Companion, could even adapt Biggs/Wedge/Cid into a Companion version of the Magitek Armor.

    As for the OPs suggestion, I'd prefer if they save the more beast-themed companions/mounts for a fully fleshed out Beast Master Job, though one wonders how possible that would be in XIV...

    Companions shouldn't be unique characters. I don't want to see two cids running around for example. Breaks immersion, cheapens the game and completely unnecessary. Just give us nobody recruits to train like adventuring fellows, can even use the guilds to facilitate this.

    Personally, that level of immersion has already been broken for me, given I'm the only adventurer who was chosen by the Eye to become the second Azure Dragoon, and the one who holds the last Summoner Job Crystal, and so on... You know, the only adventurer, apart from every other adventurer... I don't find having something like having 10 Sylphies' running around healing people to be any more problematic, and I'd much rather have companions with character, than some dull everyman... Path Companions would perhaps be nice, but all their character came from their involvement with the MSQ IMO, and they're unlikely to get that back...

    I'd actually say it's cheaper to just slap some random character on us for additional Companions... Final Fantasy, for the most part, has been about traveling with fairly memorable characters... It makes more sense to me to adventure about with Cid, even if there are several other people doing the same thing, than it does to play with some randomly generated character...

    There's Minfilias everywhere already.... Whatever damage that could've done has already been done.

    As for me I'd just love to be able to summon mounts to walk by my side, even if they weren't fight-able. Or like the wolf pup minion who pretends to be fighting when you engage. It'd make them feel those mounts more real and less like walking robots.

    And on the topic of mounts not looking alive, could we please have some idle-animations for them? Why can the chocobo companion look around but when it's mounted it only stares straight with a dead fish gaze?
