Even when they do drop PS3 support, I doubt they'll significantly upgrade the game. They want to hang on to as big a share of the PC population as they can - and plenty of people doubtless still play on PCs that are barely better than PS3s in terms of power.

Exactly this. I play regularly with a guy who plays on PC. He has a PS3 in the house, and acknowledges that moving to that would be an UPGRADE - that's how old'n'moldy his PC is - but he can't do it because his family uses it to watch movies while he plays FFXIV. Purchasing a PS4 or upgrading to a decent PC? WELL out of his budget.

FFXIV is not a game being marketed to the bleeding-edge crowd of gamers, like so many other games on the market. Oh, they TRIED to do it that way, in the disaster that was Version 1.0, but they're casting a much wider net now. It's for that reason that I will not be at all shocked if they continue PS3 support even into 4.0.

The problem isn`t the PS3 support. The problem is the dev team insisting on the ridiculous idea of all platforms looking more or less the same. If they would just enhance the game for the PS4 hardware and give PC users modtools and HD textures and support for more advanced technology, while keeping everything as it is for PS3, none of this would be an issue.

But, they fear PS3 might get discouraged from the game cause... Surprise, PC and PS4 can handle much more than their platform. Thats ridiculous.

speaking of 15 models, mounts and such... LOL when are we getting the Cloud Mount Motorcycle? Is that with game code for pre-order FF7 re-make?

It was a one off thing the dev team did for funsies and have no plans of making it a real thing.

I think the Dev Team just backed off ... or maybe it's just too soon to get it, it might become a bonus code from VII which I will gladly buy!...
