HELP: You have reached the character creation limit for one day.

I have been creating a lot of new chars to try perfect my new main, and ran into this message: You have reached the character creation limit for one day.

I researched a bit and found that they introduced this to limit gold spammers, which is nice I guess, but...

Is there anyway to tell WHEN the limit for one day lifts?

Please note that it is NOT a server issue, it is a creation limit per day issue. My server is accepting new players, and it is not the same message.

Well I don't know for sure, but as I'm sure you know, One day = 24 hours... so probably 24 hours after the ban started?

Yeah the thing is, I do not recall when I made the first char, which I guess is where they judge it from!? Was hoping there is a way to know exactly.

It's not "one day = 24hrs" it's "one whole reset day". Reset time differs with your real world location but say it was 3pm & you got your 'ban' at 4pm. You would have to wait until 3pm came around again before your 24hr day started to count down. As a result your ban would be 23hrs plus 24hrs.

If your ban started at 2:55pm your 24hr day would start at 3pm, therefore your ban would last 24hrs & 5 minutes. That's how all other bans work so I imagine this is the same.

Guess I will have to wait 15 1/2 more hours if you are correct. Too bad, as I can't sleep in these hot nights.

Hmmm I could make my char just now, so that speaks against your theory Culfin, now I am more confuzzled than ever.
So I guess unless we can get an official answer, it seems the ban is 24 hours per individual char created.
Which means if you have no idea when you made that char, all you can do is wait and keep trying....

Anyway, I am in, yeay!

I would suggest using the benchmark program to get a few designs setup that you like, then trying them in game after you've limited them down. I know lighting has to be tested in game because the creators don't do it anywhere near justice but should help alleviate some of this.

Thanks Lollie, that is a great tip, and if I am looking to make any new char I will most certainly use that.

It would be really awesome if they could add a warning, so new players know.

Glad you got in, also glad you were able to confirm that the soft ban isn't the same as the normal bans! =3
