I've found the Roughspun Ruffian. Think he was a hyur acranist of some sort. At least he had a book. I didn't realize he could be an NPC until I saw this thread. Anyone have any idea who he might be?

Given I'm going at it solo (only 1-10 done) to be able to call myself a Legendary Dork Dark Knight with some merit and simultaneously trying to finish my Guillotine of the Tyrant (2 infusions a day, almost 3/4 there), I've not gotten that far. However if he had a dark skin tone... Tristan from the SMN 30-50 line?

I have a theory, when you exit floor 30 Edda is shown behind you smiling crazy and all, after that the next 20 floors have the same type of layout and all enemies change name from palace something to nightmare something and they are either undeads, phantoms or voidsents also you don't get a cutscene at all on floor 40, so I wonder if those 20 floors are actually just a nightmare dimension that Edda or someone else created and trapped us, or just a nod to bloodborne

I don't think she survived the fall. Given that she did not know why she was there, or what she was doing, it was probably a case that she was brought back as an undead and her soul enslaved.

Though her saying she started over as an adventurer, that she did not remember what she was doing or why she was there, only that her last memories was falling and a man in a dark robe...

Makes me think that she was brainwashed to go down the path she did. Would also explain how she got the knowledge needed to pull off what she has done. Hell she could of been used to summon the palace of the dead abusing her desire to reunite with Avere.

The place makes for the perfect adventurer trap, imagine all those adventurers brought back as undead slaves that can be remade endlessly and still possess the skills they had in life. An unbeatable army that adds to its ranks with every enemy slain.

I'm really happy that it ended quite well (depending the circumstances that is...) and it was a valuable lessons that the happy party rpg life doesn't always go well if you're not the main character (demn plotarmour).

One thing struck me as odd though. She actually named a robed man made her go mad (unless I misread it?). I wonder if that was all an Ascien's work...
Or, maybe that mad jester from Amdapor Keep will have a return in later floors? (it's in the same zone basically). Although he reappeared in Wiping City alongside Diabolos...

I also wonder if Palace of the dead will turn into a boss gauntlet later on - would be fun.

The Flame still puzzles me. He's got the same face / outfit as a dozen throwaway NPCs, but his last words reference two NPCs that were never in A Realm Reborn. Those are two Flames assigned to Jagged Crest Cave for the assault on Castrum Novum during United We Stand. I think he was a member of Flame Commander Jakys Ryder's unit, which perished in the Battle of Cartenau (unless this guy survived his two comrades and made it to A Realm Reborn).

Anybody got an idea for a name?
