Patch 3.4 coming September 27th.

For those that don't have a house and interested in apartments they will be available September 27th.

Apartments
Introduced in the past, this apartment-style housing will cost 500,000 gil for a room.

There will also be a shared space in the apartment building. While there will be no garden, there is a chocobo stable.

What I would like to know is if this is just another fc room without being in a fc and also why they are only doing 500 some per area. Yes that is 1500 some apartments but I thought this was going to be an unlimited option. These are going to go fast on Balmung just like housing.

I hope these are like a small house on the inside or a different floor plan because if its only the size of a fc room whats the difference between one of those vs a apartment.

While I don't think they were ever meant to be unlimited, I had thought they would have more than that. I expected one per ward/subdivision. The official translation doesn't state that there's only going to be one apartment building total for each of the three current housing areas so back to waiting on more information to be released or simply waiting out the patch to see for ourselves.

I truely hope there is one per ward, that would make it a lot easier to obtain on some of the full servers. I know personally I have been waiting for them and will be crushed if they go the same route as houses.

It's not attached to a FC so you can move FCs as much as you want without losing your room, and also you don't have to worry about your FC just kicking you out at any point for any reason (not saying yours in particular would, I just mean in general)

From what I understand (based on what other people have said) it sounds like it'll be in ALL wards and all entrances lead to the same fixed structure. But that might be completely wrong!

Even if poptarts, why make players angry? Every customer is paying a monthly subscription and should have equal chance to enjoy housing content. If balmung is several times bigger than maltheus and generating several times more revenue.. well then balmung should be given a lot more server budget and shouldn't have identical number of housing available compared to malteus.

Bad servers is no excuse, its just punishing paying customers and hurting the bottom line by not properly addressing the issue.

I do hope it's different from FC rooms, but even if they're exactly the same, the main purpose of apartments was always to provide a housing option to people that didn't have a FC (or were in a FC that doesn't have a house).

At 500,000 gil a piece, everyone and their alt can buy one. Such low prices may also make a very tempting re-sale market. With an inconsistently applied policy on re-selling homes, the launch of 3.4 could devolve into an ugly affair. Providing an adequate number of rooms would spare both the players and the GM's a great deal of grief. Let's hope the people in charge are not sadists.
