    Never has an on screen message encapsulated how disappointed I am.

    Palace of the Dead is a grind, and what a grind it is. And for what?

    My biggest problem is that the "rewards" are lame. And that they're locked behind a ridiculously boring grind. It's not even that long just boring.

    The fact that your odds of having your aetherpool arm and armor increase are soooo low once you've reached the halfway point is just not worth it. You have to run the first 40 floors again and again with no reward whatsoever to get to floors 40-50 to then have better odds of increaing your aetherpool stuff. Maybe it's just me but I guess I'm good. Before the SE stans come for me I just wont be doing PotD

    Might just be their way of trying to pad it out till the remaining floors are brought out but I admit, if this is true (working, sadly cant try it much) then I can imagine a lot of people disliking this =/

    Two words: Vertical progression.
    How can you get worthwhile rewards when there are only a few stat setups on each gear? 235 weapon? Cool. Already have 240 or 235 weapons even for jobs that I don't have leveled, untill we get horizontal progression with gear that also has special passive abilities so we get the motivation to get gear from many different zones, I am just doing it for the lolz and thanks god I am still getting the lolz, not sure for how long though.

    Basically there is no worthwhile reward as you can already get your weapon from multiple sources (a few exceptions can be found with bad stat assignment) untill something changes with itemization.

    Eh, usually I'm completely on board with asking for more itemization, but it's pretty obvious what Palace of the Dead is meant to be with regards to the rewards; It's the "casual" version of Nidhogg... You have i235+ for everything because you're doing that content, plenty of people do not touch that content though... I certainly haven't, because I got tired of team jump rope fairly early on into 2.# and 3.0s undersized party option makes me glad I did so, I've had more fun solo/duo/etc.ing 2.# content than I've had with the majority of 3.# content... Palace of the Dead pretty much has that built in and it's fairly grindy, which I'm certainly not going to complain about... I've always wanted more content that I can just log on and do, either solo or with a handful of friends... Not everyone has a full static and not everyone enjoys the "Watch Mr.Happy guides then put up with man-children pointing the blame at everyone but themselves" culture that surrounds the "hardcore" content... This was not designed with people who have enough free time to study for boss fights in mind... Heck, it wasn't even entirely designed for people who are at the level cap... It's Levequest-level content, that's not to say it shouldn't be more engaging or challenging (contrary to popular belief, challenging and casual are not mutually exclusive), but that's the lens I'm viewing Palace of the Dead through...

    That said... I don't need or care for these weapons... I'll take them on Jobs I "need" them on, but I'm perfectly happy playing XIV in as low as i200 at the moment... The vertical progression in this game is ridiculously stupid IMO, give me some horizontal progression or I simply don't care about gear until Lv70... I'll do some stuff (like the Relic quest) just to do stuff, but the actual rewards (as far as stats go, #GlamourIsTheTrueEndgame/etc.) have long since lost value for me... Such a shame gearing up in this game is closer to the original Final Fantasy, than something like Final Fantasy IX, which had a bloody amazing system for horizontal progression... Nearly 3 years since it was suggested... Sigh...

    no.I'm upset that Se design this context to essentially be a super easy boring dungeon that takes about 4 hours to complete from floor 1 to 50 with rewards that aren't worth those 4 hours.
    If it at least wasn't boring I'd be into it. But man is it boring

    When enhancing gear, there is a chance of failure that varies depending on the current level of your gear and the floor where the silver coffer is found.
    This was probably put in to stop people running 1-10 over and over to gear up. Do higher levels.

    The problem is that in order to do the higher levels any additional times after the first you have to reset your entire progress and start again from level 1. It would be less tedious if you could queue for specific brackets after you've completed them (even at a reduced rate) than having to go 1-30 seeing no gains until you're back at the "appropriate" level range.
