I just tried this on PS4. After 4 or 5 download attempts, it started downloading the launcher. So I guess I wasted a day for nothing

Some word - any word - from SE could have helped. but I guess the fix is to keep trying without quitting or leaving the game or shutting off the power. Enough tries in a row and it works.
