				Hey all! I just got some help through the Faerie FB page and it worked like a charm.
1.) Go to My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
2.) Open up FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in Notepad
3.) Change the line "BootVersionCheckMode" number from 0 to 1.
4.) Launch and you should be good to go!

				I was having the same problem till I found an older post about the same topic, they were talking about using a VPN called CyberGhost. I don't usually try that stuff but I looked them up and they seemed legit and it actually started downloading. I feel I must tell you though that it didn't start getting past the version update till I fully uninstalled the game in both folders and reinstalled from the playersdownload site.
and now it works......
same problem on both my ps4 and pc
