Aether current is not showing up on the map?

am i glitching or something? neither me and my friends can see our current aethers? do we have to finish cerntain quest to be able to see it?

They don't actually show up on the maps.

appearently all the old current had been remove.. so now am stuck trying to figure out how to use this stupid compass lol

They don't show on the map, you have to find them on your own. There is a thread somewhere in this forums about their locations, there are websites about their locations, there are videos on Youtube about their locations (Mithrie's videos were really helpful).

They do not show up on the map but the compass helps find them. There are also many sites and such which will give you the exact coords for them and also tell you which quests unlock the rest since some are unlocked via finding them within the region while others are unlocked from quests in the region too. Normally there is also one final one unlocked from the final main story quest in a region that involves clearing the regional dungeon or trial. If look at your list of currents, some will have red icon and some green, the green can be found within the region while the red require completion of quests just so you know how many of each type you still need to find and what kind of requirement is involved aka location or quest.
