    This. It's a small exploit that doesn't actually affect anyone else and only allows one person to gain, what, 800 mgp? And it's not like it can be used frequently due to the fact that the ring has a 30-minute cooldown and the Gate can only spawn once an hour and even then it's only a chance. Getting banned for using this kind of exploit seems petty to me.

    Players using in-game exploits instead of 3rd party tools are actually easier to detect as SE have analytics tools tracking what players are doing. There have been a number of banwaves issued for raiders that were using exploits to cheese encounters so it definitely does happen, if rarely.

    In this specific case though I wouldn't worry about it too much. It is an exploit but it's hardly a profitable one and doesn't really unbalance anything. It just saves you maybe a couple of minutes and requires at least one of the pair to get to the top legitimately first anyway.
