Since shoutouts and crossovers are a thing, why not Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles?

Looking back at the game now, it was a pretty decent game. Flawed, but still quite good. (screw the multiplayer set up though XD) Out of all the callbacks to previous Final Fantasy titles, Crystal Chronicles gets ignored!

The Crystal Chronicles series were never really meant to be anything more than a spin-off series and not part of the main FF mythos proper, so it's likely SE just doesn't really feel it's worthwhile adding crossovers and references to them. But anything is possible I guess (even the much-maligned FF Mystic Quest got a subtle jab with a quest featuring a lost sheep that bore the name of it's main character in ARR after all so maybe a FFCC-series reference could get something similar. ).

The first Crystal Chronicles is really an oddity. I would love for them to rerelease the game somehow, but licensing wise it might not be possible.

The game was made by an "independent" company consisting of SE employees, as a loophole to both SE's contract to make games exclusively for Playstation while at the same time utilizing money from a Nintendo grant to new start-up companies making their first game. Legally, the company was only licensing the "Final Fantasy" name. Sometime after the game was released, the company was bought and absorbed back into SE.

I haven't been a fan of any of the sequels and spinoffs of Crystal Chronicles, and I think contractually they might not be able to use it for any system other than Nintendo. But yeah, I'd love to have minions based on the races, or a dungeon full of miasma with a crystal chalice mechanic.

I loved the first CC and I enjoyed Ring of Fates as well (talk about literally the most depressing prequel I have ever played ever)
The story was pretty dark for a GC game and I still find myself thinking about it... ugh I got up to year 20-something getting all those artifacts... (i had no friends w/ the GBA cord so I played alone...sob)

Anyway I'd love a CC crossover but I doubt it'll happen
