Gameplay mechanics aside, since this part is about the story: Bigger dragon =/= stronger dragon. Vishap was just a higher ranking dragon of Nidhogg's brood. Midgardsormr was just in spirit form, and he was testing us as well. Nidhogg at full power is much stronger than Vishap, and stronger than Hraesvelgr.

If you're gonna rip into the story of the dungeon, at least know a thing or two about the story.

Well, it's supposed to be a Maelstrom training course after all. But gameplay wise, I'll agree that it did fall a bit short, as well as the music choice being a bit weird.
That said, I thought the 2nd boss fight was okay.

While more interesting dungeon designs would be nice, they'd either have to be so interesting that they don't get boring fast, or they'd have to change the system around it so it doesn't have to be farmed over and over. Even the most interesting dungeon will eventually get boring/tedious if you have to re-run it very often.

I thought it was fun content to run with a group of friends, since I just saw it as an extension of the treasure map system, which was also random when it came to getting good loot or not. The Aquapolis is just like that, sometimes you get good loot (get past multiple doors), sometimes you don't. (get kicked out after just a few doors, or even the first) It's also a good way to cap lore tomes.

That's the point, to create tension, giving that small sense of hope that it's still the right door, when seeing the room flashing red.

Aquapolis... Its not even under water! Might as well call it SAWTY Polis, it'd be alot more accurate the way it tricks you.
Your loss there, since the relic upgrades aren't the primary reason of the beast tribes. I enjoyed the story going through the Vanu Vanu, Vath and Moogle ranks.

As for the Aquapolis, considered you take a portal there, you can't prove that it's not underwater, nor can it be proven that it's underwater. That doesn't matter though, as it's only supposed to give the illusion that it's underwater.

Cute cat gif, though.
