Brimstone and Bomb Ash

For those of use who find it difficult to get Bomb Ash drops from mobs in order to make steel, could the devs please consider implementing an Alchemy recipe that transforms the Brimstone obtained via Quarrying into Bomb Ash?

From my own Bomb Ash farming session, I would rather want Bomb Arm to be turned into Bomb Ash, because I got more Bomb Arms than Brimstone.

But if you guys usually get a ton of Brimstone from mining in Limsa just like we get our Alumen in Ul'dah, then yeah Brimstone sounds like a viable source of Bomb Ash, if SE would want to add such recipe.

Hello ^^. Just a suggestion is to keep farming Bomb Embers (Lv. 30) at the Nanawa Mines. After the 1.19 spawn rate adjustments these mobs continuously spawn with little to no waiting time between spawns. This is a great place to farm bomb ash in the mean time (even better since the most recent patch). Hope this helps!

Heya!

For this there's a good Bombs spot where you can get many Bomb Ashes.
Of course I'm not gonna tell ya! But I'll give you a hint.

Right North-East of the Ferry Docks of the desert you might find what you seek.
Another path to write on your map can be the way North-West of where the Nest Commander keeps its eggs safe.

My thanks to Renshi and KaiCrystallis for their suggestions - I'll certainly give your suggestions a go when I get the chance.

However I would still ask that FFXIV devs consider my suggestion of a Brimstone to Bomb Ash conversion recipe for Alchemists as an alternative method of obtaining Bomb Ash ... for a DoL & DoH optional way to obtain Bomb Ash rather than just mob farming. It would:
- alleviate supply/demand bottlenecks and imbalances for those players who are leveling their smiths/DoH jobs prior to leveling their DoW/DoMs;
- provide another skilling recipe for Alchemists to use; and
- provide an alternative usage for the over-abundant Brimstone.

Please consider.

Bomb Ash hard to acquire are you for realz? Um the bomb corridor of Nanawa Mines there's tons of bombs they aren't even that high level they drop like candy...

I was just in the area killed 10 bombs and got 6 bomb ash...which I promptly chucked cause I have way too many mats.

In reply to Agoven - you're assuming players can farm Nanawa to get the drop. Again, I'm making the suggestion for those players who are leveling jobs other than DoW/DoM first. This one recipe would benefit Miners, Alchemists, and smiths.

I was farming the spot I told before, and in half an hour I had a complete stack of 99 Bomb Ashes =)
