Most times when i pull hate on a decent tank, its cuz i started to do damage on mobs before he finishes gathering them, but just run the mob to tank so it gets hit by his abilities and they tend to grab it off me. Namely happens on PLDs that decide to "save" the circle of scorn (which on most pulls you really dont need too you will have it off cd by the time you finish the gathering) Do keep in mind that alot of tanks will just ignore one mob on you specially if you start to kite it away from them, and if its on low HP. (when I pull a mob like this i just switch to it and blow the gcd needed to finish it)

The tank will be doing something wrong. They're either not that good at their job, playing as a dps the whole time or you've over geared them by a fair way and it's tough to keep up with you.

I've had higher ilvl BLM pump out as much as possible and not even get to 50% enmity, just meant I stance danced on only bosses as trash died so quickly I didn't need to.

Keep pressing on buddy, seems like you're doing fine, just getting bad groups.

Bad tanks, as i myself can cycle between enemies (with quelling strikes) and get agro.
Usually when there is 3 or less enemies and i get agro or close to i switch target and tend to get agro there also. I also tend to wait a bit before attacking since you never know what kind of tanks you get
And i do not always enjoy tanking as blm, lol
Heck i sometimes pull agro from tanks better geared then i...
Like Ageofwar stated sometimes it is probably just best to quickly burn down an enemy

Geared tank:
Nin+Nin - Pull medium, mark targets, 1-2 AoE Agro, stay on target, switch to DPS stance only when group is < 4
Nin+Drg/Mnk - Pull medium, mark targets for ninja - ninja stay on target, Drg/Mnk stay on target, weave in AoE, switch to DPS stance when group < 5
Ranged + Mele - same as above, throw out AoE aggro every now and then; switch to DPS stance when group is < 4
Ranged + Ranged - Pull big, Don't drop tank stance, use AoE aggro often, don't mark targets
Speedrun Ranged + Ranged - Pull big, Be War Stay in tank stance, Have a WHM, BOOM BOOM BOOM

Undergeared tank:
Any DPS - mark targets, spam AoE aggro, don't drop tank stance - thank Heals and DPS for the carry

Geared DPS:
use Agro mitigation, mele focus targets, ranged swap targets as needed

Undergeared DPS:
use Agro mitigation or sit and wait for the tank to catch up


Geared Healer:
use Agro mitigation + AoE stun

Undergeared Healer:
use Agro mitigation + AoE stun

The NIN stuff is wrong. NINs have excellent aoe, and can aoe packs of mobs down pretty well. They should not be using a single target rotation if you pull 4 or more enemies. (Technically it's 3 or more, but TP can be an issue if the other dps is bad).

Excellent may be an exaggeration. It ain't bad, but it aint EXCELLENT.
