Okay fair enough but if you were just joking it might have been better to have left off the "are you kidding?" part which felt to me confrontational as though you were implying I was an idiot hence my fairly long reply. Sarcasm does not always translate well when limited to the written form and even more so without an emoticon for example to emphasize a state of mind behind those words.
