    Wink Suggestion: Dungeons for Land and Hand

    Dungeons for Crafters and Gatherers!

    Create dungeons that work with Disciples of Land and Hand of different levels much the same way dungeons work with Disciples of War. Example:

    Challenges requiring Disciples of Hand to work together using materials harvested by Disciplines of Land hidden throughout the dungeon. The item needed to be crafted would ideally be hinted at by some dialogue describing its components or function and the Disciples of Hand would have to guess what was required. Similar riddles could be given to Disciples of Land for them to determine which thing to harvest given a selection of potential items per node.

    This would allow Disciples of the Hand and Land to have their own set of dungeons to level in alongside the Disciples of War. As well as offer another source of possible materials.

    *cough* diadem *cough* It already serves this function, and getting a group for it right now is more effort than necessary for a gatherer.

    No it does not. You need to be max level to get in (so leveling which OP mentioned is out of question). It is whole different content then proposed by OP.

    Yea....i am going to need you to infiltrate the SE development team.

    As a side note a friend in an old FC said, man it would be cool to have battle airships and need crafters and gatherers on board to make things as things got shot off etc. I think it sounded amazing but how it would be in execution would be interesting.

    You are right that diadem is different to the proposed idea, but it is still the same concept, which is an instanced piece of content for gathering (which I hope in the future promotes gathering as a group). The problem is that getting a party for it is difficult enough, which is why open world is far better suited for crafting and gathering. Having it be levelling content is even more awkward as it becomes far less relevant at endgame, which is a big problem for queue times and the viability of the content.

    It's a nice idea in theory, but in practice the game simply is not designed to support such a system.

    This sounds amazing, kinda like guns of icarus. It reminds me of the siege pvp idea that I have seen a few times that has crafters and gatherers fortifying the base, but airship pvp would be awesome.

    Sounds really good but while a DoH would be useful, a DoL might not be because you on an airship in theory in the middle of a battle so where would they go to gather from? Alternatively maybe the DoL/DoH could come into play after a battle like the damaged ship lands somewhere and the DoL heads out to get the materials and DoH crafts/repairs the parts when the DoL gets back. The purpose of the DoW/DoM during this phase is just to protect the DoL at that time.

    No...it really wasn't. You really think skyfishing is the ideal way for a DoL to gather lumber, metal and such to repair an airship? Keep in mind all DoL classes including botanists and miners need to have a purpose in this plus all DoH types need to be covered too. A fisher could maybe gain some materials but the botanists and miners should also be able to take part. Skyfishing alone would not fulfill that need. I still think after the battle (or series of battles) it should have a phase which requires landing on an island (perhaps crash landing) to gather the supplies in order to repair the airship as part of the series of events and potentially the DoW/DoM present on the voyage protecting the DoL types as they gather the repair materials for the DoH to use to fix it. That would be the better way of doing it I think which would allow all types of DoL to contribute.
