Forever a battle

So, I was forever "engaged" to a bird I could not kill. I could throw a javelin at it, it didn't do anything but went engaged. Meleeing kept saying "too far away."

Steps:

1. Get near the bird
2. Throw a javelin
3. You're engaged to it but it doesn't move, attack neither can you attack it with other than a throwing weapon
4. Forever a battle... Can't log out or call chocobo because of it. Had to force quit to fix it.
