I think it would be cool if Monks could continue auto-attacking (and maybe countering?) while casting spells.
Just as a side bonus. ^^

Mental shield, Increases Magical defense
Will of Iron, increases Physical defense
Magenta Fist, Turns fist Magenta and increases physical damage on targets
Fire Fury, Fist light on fire and do fire damage
Monsoon Fist, Higher water damage
Tiger's paw, think concussive blow but causes bleed effect, low initial damage long damage over time
Asura Fist, Use all your TP/MP/half of HP to cause your oponital damage equal to your mp and hp combined. Used able every 5 minutes



I'd like to see FF: Tactics Monk abilities. Chakra: for HP/TP regeneration. Aura Blast for ranged attacks, Shockwave, cyclone: hit multiple targets around you. Passive ability Hamedo: Attack before being attacked.... etc.



I think as someone said, there's a lot of legacy abilities out there. One of things that got SE in public opinion trouble is they tried for something different.
Revisiting these legacy abilities or warping them in some shape or form.
Vendetta - marks the target of the attack and places the Vendetta buff on Monk for a short duration (i.e. 10 sec). When buff ends, Monk deals damage to marked target. Vendetta damage increases based on the amount of damage the Monk receives while the Vendetta buff is active. The Monk may still use abilities and attacks during the Vendetta buff.
Design intent: A Monk that does not evade or have an incoming miss does not get to use their counter abilities and sustains damage. This ability would only be useful if the Monk has enmity and is sustaining damage. Two things that might not be too beneficial in a party setting. If the marked target dies or there is too much distance, Vendetta damage does not trigger. Vendetta is subject to..

Kick attacks, kick attacks, kick attacks....
Make them 100% critical damage... because a kick to the head never ends well for the victim..
Donkey Knight has all these abilities and more.


Even though I'm not the biggest FFVI fan, I'd love to see Monk pull from Sabin's moveset a bit. SE likes to reference Tifa, but Sabin was way cooler.
If Monks had stuff like Aura Bolt and Phantom/Bum Rush, it'd be awesome. They could also throw in Yang's AoE Kick attack too. But mainly, I'd like to see them expand upon the DD capabilities as Pugilist is being retooled to not be a tank, and for them to have auto-attacks and Weapon Skills that use punches AND kicks.
