I'm still waiting for a game-changer myself. The 3.3 patch brought exactly what everyone expected. Two new dungeons and a splatter of story quests. The Nidhogg fight was amazing, and arguably the best part of the patch, but it's fleeting fun and you don't really get the same enjoyment twice.
This game needs longer lasting appeal, not quickly digested content that's excreted out the other end never to be touched again. The only content people tend to repeat is the EX dungeons and the raids, and that's only because they're farming tomes or parts. There's no unique gear, so there's no reason to put any effort into content besides the EX dungeons unless you want the glamors. Even the almighty relic is reduced to a mere skin.
It's getting kind of boring, and it doesn't seem like it'll be changing any time soon. I paid for 6 months up-front, but I doubt I'll renew. I've been holding out hope of some change since Heavensward came out but I guess despite their claims, they really haven't learned anything from 1.0 at all.
Weeping City and Aquapolis.
Weeping City is the perfectly tuned 24-man raid we've been waiting for. Yeah, it can be frustrating when one party doesn't do its job, but... isn't the point to have content where people need to, you know, do what they're supposed to do in order to win?
If an entire party can mess around and the alliance still wins, then how is that worth anyone's while?
Meanwhile, the Aquapolis is just plain fun. Kudos to SE for creating fun, stress-free content that doesn't pretend to be something it's not.
Wiping City is the whole reason I log in for the day. I love it when groups derp mechanics and I get to seriously flex my healing muscle, instead of push Cleric Stance and do my boring 4-button "DPS rotation".
3.3 has been a somewhat uninspiring patch for me, with (IMO) the most interesting content (Palace of the Dead) pushed back to 3.35.
Nidhogg's the best part of it though, if only for his amazing theme song.
Hogg & Hogg music & Weeping City I still enjoy.

Aquapolis. I now get most of my tomes for the week from running maps with my FC instead of Expert Roulette.![]()
I literally gasped when I first did Sohr Khai. It is the most beautiful environment I have ever seen in a game, and then I realized what music was playing, and I had ALL THE FEELS.
The cutscene sequence leading into Final Steps of Faith was also incredible. As I told my FC, I have never been so pumped to wipe two dozen times as I was at the end of that cutscene--and then the conclusion to the story was equally beautiful, both aesthetically and thematically. It makes me really eager to see what's coming next.
Aquapolis has been just downright all-around fun - I just wish there was some way to guarantee you didn't pick the wrong door (or maybe there is?).
I haven't done Weeping City yet, but the gear looks excellent, and the nickname it's earned among my friends ("Wiping City of Salt") has me excited to get in there and give it a shot.
All in all, for me (and most I know), this was an excellent patch with awesome new content, and storytelling quality on a par with the Final Fantasy games of old. The only piece that felt out of place was Hullbreaker HM. It's passable, in my mind, but it suffers from being released alongside other pieces of excellence.

Weeping City and Aquapolis for me. My group's luck finally turned and we made it Floor 7 twice now in the past week.
