    "Fifty Shades of Yellow" error

Hello! Spotted this possible error in the Vath daily quest of the aforementioned name. My character is female and the "Yellow Dragon" at Forelands ( 21.6 , 22.0 ) Z: 1.2) says:

Yellow Dragon: Son of man...wandering about our towers? A rare sight, indeed! Are you lost, my friend?
Not sure if they are referring to us in a generic term or if it's meant to be "daughter". Thanks and hopefully it'll help.

"Son of man" is just a general phrase. It's mostly just a way of addressing a human.

Yeah, that term often shows up throughout the game to refer to a member of the six races (in other words, the player is a 'Son' or 'Daughter of Man') - another lore specific term which means the same thing is a 'Spoken'. It's a term used to denote one of the intelligent human/human-like races that the player can select as their character's race (another place the term pops up is in the lyrics to Titan's theme Under The Weight ("There is no salvation for the Sons of Man!")

As for the origins of the term, I have my theories... but I'm sure Mr Koji-Fox and Mr Oda have interesting revelations planned for it which would blow my conspiracy theorizing away. But I digress..

In response to my original post, the dialogue in "Fifty Shades of Yellow" is still incorrect. One of the new Moogle quests addresses me correctly, so the issue still stands as needing to be changed.

Dextrous Dragonet: Well come, daughter of man. What business brings you here?

Maybe the dragons have difficulty telling what gender humanoid races are?

They ought to say something like "progeny of Man" then

"Son of Man" is often used in fantasy literature/games to refer to humans. It's kind of like how in Science Fiction humans are called Earthlings. I've seen 'Son of Man' in at least a dozen different RPGs.

Feminism and misogyny aside "He" is used when the gender is definitely male, but it is also linguistically and grammatically correct (though maybe not politically correct) to use 'he' when the gender is unknown.

Generally speaking, when we have dragons or other beings which feel compelled to speak in more formal/archaic registers, we prefer to have them used gendered or explicitly genderless terms when referring to specific individuals. So yes, this was indeed a mistake, and it has since been corrected. Thanks for the heads up!
