Job Specific Gear- Can I Level It Up?

Job Specific Gear is cool for the level that is required to use it. However it falls to the wayside once your level increases and more options become available to you. This makes me sad.

As the game continues to grow, I think it would be a good idea to allow you to level up your job gear. As you increase the tier the gear will increase in appearance, by becoming more fancy. Maybe gold trim starts to show up. By increasing the level requirement, you won't have people rushing all at once to get it to the max tier. Now how that would work whether crafted or quested I don' know the best option. I think rather than introducing new job gear every time you have a level cap increased it's better to "level up" your old GSJ. Go go inventory space! Weapons the same thing, only make it so you take your old Paladin GSW and after a series of quest it becomes Excalibur or something to that effect.

I do like that idea. Ihate when I find something good, then needs to be replaced just because its "outdated".

The first AF chast piece as a Blue Mage in xi had +15 to blue magic skill and the second AF didn't have that boost, which watch pretty depressing since it forced players to still use the outdated piece . It would of had been awesome if I was able to level it up.

For this system I would want the item to actually level up, just like us, with an exp bar and everything.
So each time the job specific gear levels up, the required level goes up, and stats of the gear would be regenerated at that level.
