Item links do not display the item help but inventory does

Steps: My friend send me an item link on the chat box and when I hover my mouse over it to view it, nothing would show up. My character configuration setting has Display item help, Display action help and Display pop-up help all checked. The strange thing about this is that I have no probably viewing the display item help when I check items in my inventory. I don't know why it won't work when someone sends me the link through the chat box.

What you were doing when the issue occurred.

I was standing in Limsa Liminsa talking to my friend and he send me an item link through the chat box but when I hovered my mouse over it, it wouldn't show me the picture nor the stats. I have tried searching online to see if anyone has the same issues and I have checked my settings but everything seems to be fine.
