DEV REQUEST: Shared Retainer

With the upcoming upgrades to inventory space, I think a great idea for many of you with alts would love to have is a Shared retainer. All characters on one’s account share this “shared retainer”: therefore, making it possible to send items & gil to alts on the account. What do you guys think?

I think this will never happen because it's utterly obvious that this is simply another way of asking for a work around to allow the use of Alts as mules.

Or they could just let us send mail to other characters on the same account. Seems like that would be a lot easier. It was an anti-RMT measure that hasn't impacted RMT at all, but has been causing players stress from the beginning. It's time to do away with it.

This is the only game I know of that makes it so difficult to trade items between your alts, all in the name of "Anti-RMT". I fail to see how RMT is prevented from doing anything by not allowing anyone to mail their alts. It's easy to move gil with or without the use of an FC. They are preventing nothing.

The open tab on my FC chest indeed says it's stopping nothing. Shared retainers does not sound as nice as being able to friend your alt, therefore opening all kinds of swapping opportunities. That would of course take money out of SE's pocket with the limitation of two free retainers though. Lord knows that my third retainer, originally purchased temporarily as a crystal shard farmer quickly turned into a hoarder. They like that extra income. Who wouldn't?

Well they can't just come right out and say that adding alternative characters on the same account to friend list would impact retainer subs, now can they....? This 'shared retainer' idea would impact as well....unless the share retainers were sold too!

Don't like the idea. I have 8 characters on my account and all of them have max retainers, wish SE would allow us to pay for even more, it's great when crafting as well as selling. Wouldn't like to see sharing that space with my alts.

SE also likes us paying for more retainers instead of making alts/mules. Their reasoning is as flawed as their argument about not being able to trade more than 1 mil at a time via trade.

I'd prefer they just add any other alts on the same account to your friend list so they can be sent mail. There is no RMT going on when a second account isn't involved.
