Can the "Rising Pillars" be turned into light sources?

I was hoping the "Rising Pillars" would behave like (and give off as much light as) other outdoor lampposts (glade, riviera, oasis, etc) at night.

Instead, the crystal gives off no ambient lighting during the night hours, and with the limited slots available for placing items that issue makes it difficult to justify ever using them.

Were they an actual meaningful light source, I think they'd make a welcome additional option when choosing between lampposts.

Made that request in the housing feature request thread too (here). With so few slots outside we need a lot of multi-purpose furniture.

I was hoping they'd light up too! they really do look gorgeous and adding that light to them would make it stand out even more <3

Very bummed when I placed one and it gave no light whatsoever. Purchased half a dozen too, as I've learned to do with most seasonal things. Oh well.

I placed it in the day. Came back at night hoping it would be bright. And took me a sec to even remember where I placed it, because the light was so dull.
