Unranked Feast Queue is Horrendous Late Season

I don't know how it is for other data centers, but on mine the unranked Feast queue is absolutely horrendous. I've only done Solo so Party queue might be much better.

With the way queues work for the Feast, an unranked player can only be teamed up with Bronze or Silver people and other unranked.

With the season almost ending, I decided I wanted to get my ranking up since I was busy with all manner of other things. I never expected me to constantly have hour long waits+ for just 1 match.

Friends I know that are Bronze get matches in 10 minutes, and here I am still with a 2 hour long queue.

The problem seems to be because of the vast amount of people who have already ranked up. Since Bronze can also be in a bracket of [Bronze, Silver, Gold] and Silver also has [Silver, Gold, Platinum], most of the time they end up in those matches. So other people are constantly in and out of my queue as they get a match for themselves leaving me to wait hours on end.

Something really needs to be done about it I think. Sure now I know as soon as Season starts to get at least Silver ranking ASAP. But the amount of people who might get interested in the Season will need to wait months just to play at a decent rate.

Feast has been queuing very quickly since last week. Even as a tank, I've been averaging about 3-8 minutes a queue. At the peak of my queues last night, I went on a six match streak of insta-queues. It has been great, and I've seen ranks anywhere between bronze all the way up to platinum.

Kuma has the right of it. The problem is the way in which ranked players are matched together. The majority of Feast players are either silver or gold ranked. Most of the matches I've played tend to have at least 2 gold ranked players on both teams, meaning that bronze and unranked players are locked out. They can play with silvers, but silvers are mostly prioritized to fill in the gaps in gold-platinum level matches; so, the pool of players to fill in slots for un-ranked or bronze matches is quite limited.

I see, I see ... Well, that really sucks for you guys them, because it means you're stuck with the absolute worst PvP game-mode EVER conceived, and I can't imagine those queue times are any good either. A very sad state of affairs for you Aetherites.

Has no one tried to revitalized Feast on your server? It only took one forum post here to get all of the Primal PvP'ers who have been itching for a real fight to crawl out of the woodwork. I would have thought something like that would have been even easier on Aether ... If not, then you have my sympathy, because that would mean that you don't really have any PvP at all on your data centre at the moment.

More often than not, I see people talk about specific worlds rather than entire Data Centres. Well known PvP groups, LS's, or specific players tend to get the spotlight, and their world gets a highlight by association. Gilgamesh and Balmung, specifically, were known long time as having well established and proficient PvP groups and players, and you can see their tags pretty commonly in the end results pages of matches. If you actually tally the numbers, though, the overall population is still quite small. SE would do well to consider mergers for the sake of optimized matchmaking.

I don't think anyone wants to, Feast (Solo) queue is just asking to have an aneurysm. Not to mention the win-trading. (Healer duos queuing when healers lacking, waiting for both their queues to pop, then one of them just pretty much afks/plays exceptionally lackluster for the match). Not even gonna talk about 10 stack tanks consistently throwing matches.

Aether here, I gave up on Feast solo queue after Shatter, 1 hour+ queues and still that way when I try with blind hope every few days.

And you guys are supposed to be the superior NA pvp data center. For shame.

I know you're joking, but is there actually a perceived 'best' NA datacenter for PvP? Most discussions seem even between Aether/Primal, they're just different (different top GCs, habits, etc).

The only thing I was aware of about superior PvP centers is that JP > NA/EU.

Not really perceived as such in this forum but over on reddit yes Aether is perceived to be the more competitive, serious, and active NA data center, even though the rankings in feast are not reflecting this atm. And yeah JP data centers are also perceived to be superior to the NA data centers with Mana being heralded as the best PVP data center period. Really wish they would merge Primal and Aether data center for PVP purposes to make them more on par with Mana, while at the same time making PVP more active in the NA scene, but given that SE has never seemed to consider the idea it must be too difficult or stressful server wise to implement for them in a technical sense. Anyway the whole Primal/Aether thing is just forum conjecture though and I wouldn't place too much significance into it myself.

This is because a large sample of the better PVPers do not participate in Solo Queue, since it is absolute cancer. Very few RUM members ever stepped foot in there, same with RareX. Also, top 10 Aether Solo Q ladder is littered with a small handful of win boosters, which I know turned off even more people from participating.
