There's no real reason for them not to add it to the Mog Station once the promotion is over. At least for European players but ideally everybody. When people urged the company to make region exclusive items available elsewhere in the world they were under the impression that the playing field would be fair. American and Japanese players had a straightforward and accessible promotion. European players did not.

They've already set a precedent anyway - the FFXIII promotion ran more than once in-game and the items associated with it ended up on the Mog Station at a later date.

Well it'd be a bit of an insult to players that went out of their way to get whatever was needed for their promotion if they could have just waited and bought it online later with a few clicks (which, for example, for the UK one for example was to hunt down 3 separate magazines in real world stores, over 3 months, then photograph them and send/wait/chase for final code and I know from my own experiences it was a real pain in the neck). I also heard that for some countries the places you had to go were so sparse that people had to drive hundreds of miles to get there.

Of course it's also not fair that some players will miss out either though...

Aside from that possible issue, they probably have exclusive deals with whoever they packaged the items with to say that those items would only be available in that country via those merchants so they'd be breaking agreements if they sell them other ways.

Ideally they'd just put them on the mogstation for the countries that didn't get a promotion, but then the people who were unable to get it for their country or have since moved wouldn't be happy...

Not really the same thing though. The Lightning promotion was run solely by Square Enix. It didn't involve any 3rd parties and there weren't any region exclusives either as events ran at the same times.

Edit: Just remembered there's Mogstation maintenance for tomorrow morning. You never know... cross your fingers?

It wouldn't be an 'insult' to players who participated in the promotion. Many players who participated in the promotion have spoken out in this very thread about their desire to see more players granted the opportunity to acquire the items. Those who desire them to remain 'exclusive' in light of European players being screwed over are, quite honestly, not the sort of players who should be given the time of day to begin with - let alone given a say in regards to 'fairness' when many European players have been patiently awaiting the chance to participate in a promotion of their own only to be deceived, screwed over and ignored across the course of months.

Where there's a will, there's a way. I do wish to remain hopeful and desire to see the items added to the Mog Station sooner rather than later though. I feel like that's the best compromise at this point - because the alternative is just letting a significant chunk of the player base go without a fair chance to obtain something that players in Japan and America could gain easily. It wouldn't be nearly so bad if the codes could be used across different regions.

It would be an insult to players who did the campaigns but I have a better solution. Put the items on the cash shop, but wait a year (like seasonal items). Have the items go in the cash shop in Dec 2017, so that everyone can get them. This way, players who did the campaign can enjoy the items, and then they are accessible to everyone once they are no longer relevant.

3. The Amazon.fr campaign was not announced/advertized at all in my country (Italy). Sure, I might have found out about it in this thread, but honestly I was expecting some official announcement instead of checking this thread every so often.

I don't really care that much about items but this whole thing leaves me with a bitter taste. I would have taken part in the campaign to show my support to the company, now I wouldn't buy it from mogstation for the same reason: SE doesn't care about us, so I won't show any appreciation for the way we've been treated.

As Zanarkander already stated, the amazon.fr promotion wasn't announced anywhere other than on the French lodestone page. Anyone not checking on this thread regularly wouldn't have known about it.

My country (The Netherlands) actually had what looked like a start of their promotion with a game magazine called Power Unlimited, since previous month's issue included the codes for the Ifrit mask and the MGP card. People likely thought they could just get two issues for the following months to get all the ingame items, and passed on the amazon.fr one. Turned out that current month's Power Unlimited didn't have any codes at all, and it seemed to have been a one-time only thing.

Perhaps the NA or JP players would be, since they actually had a good promotion. I can't imagine all that many EU players being insulted about this, due to how most of the promotions were terribly handled.

The EU campaigns were handled very poorly and I fully support the items being made available to everyone on the Cash shop.

If Amazon.fr was only on our french lodestone its because Amazon.fr was a short promotion for Paris Games Week.
