We need longer hairstyles

This "stopping at/above the shoulders" trend with all hairstyles is getting to be old; there's absolutely no variety to be had in length. You're stuck with either short hair or shoulder length; or down to the scapula in Female Au Ri's case and the hime cut.

Like, I don't see a reason as to why we need to have such short hairstyles, and I highly doubt it's an engine limitation at this point. Personally, I feel that many of the hair contest styles were greatly diverse and should have been heavily considered over others, but instead we essentially got the same tired and true "short" styles that we continue receiving to this day.

Something genuinely unique; and of varying lengths, would be a godsend.

If I had to guess I would say that longer hairstyles would have significantly more clipping issues to deal with. We already have some clipping problems with certain gear with the hairstyles we have now, but a longer hairstyle would clip with just about everything. This might be why the developers haven't included any exceptionally long hairstyles yet. I don't mind having to work around clipping issues if it means more variety, but I know there are those who would prefer as little clipping as possible.

I work around clipping as well, having played games like Mabinogi, Pangya and other older Korean MMOs, I don't see clipping as much an issue as others. Goodness knows our weapons and everything else clip right now, (As a NIN player its very obvious) but that's just the way it works when a game doesn't use more robust physics. It'd still be nice though, since most hairstyles are really... Lackluster, for lack of a better word. I find myself sticking to Lightning or the hairstyle your currently see, but even so I still get bored with it.

Clipping is the reason, although a bad one as many people really don't care about it. I wish they'd at least release one really long hairstyle and see if the player base like it. Support this thread.

The devs should make gear where we don't got absurdly huge collars. Those always annoy me when I wanna use long hair.

I think another reason might be because the hair probably won't move as much as you would like it to, which would look bad on MNK, DRG and NIN.

I'd love more longer hairstyles too, also something simple, a simple braid with no side bangs or silly things hanging down on your front (like one of the braids we have, which the male version lacks those silly sidebangs). Long hair, nothing fancy, just plain loose hair, simple braids/ponytails etc. Most of the hairstyles are too "worked up" for me imo.

I know someone that's tried to pull off a Shantae Cosplay before, seemed to have all the right clothes, did not have the right Ponytail.

That said, I'd love to see a Ponytail close to that length if not as long.

I would absolutely love longer hair styles, also more mid to long length over the shoulder styles. Clipping or no, the clips that happen on my favorite glamours don't detract at all from my love of the glamours anyway, I'm all for hair!!!
