Short Term Solution: Client-Side Only Jumping until Server Fixed

The problem with the jump as it currently is in development is because they are not satisfied with the animation and height. Why would they want to add a cosmetic only jump with an animation they aren't happy with?

Perfect the code before pushing it to live.

Because "the important people" want it, and feel they absolutely must have it, apparently.

It's the typical spoiled brat mentality isn't it?

People weren't sure if jump was being implemented or not for a while. Even though the road map updates had specifically stated, and Bayohne had hinted in a thread that, yes.. it would be added, people still didn't "get it".

So now it's been confirmed - again - during a live letter update.

Not even a couple days later, we already have someone saying "But why can't I have it noooow? I want to be able to jump nooooooooow."

It seems all SE announcing or confirming something accomplishes is to open up a new can of worms for people to start complaining about; it's "not doing enough", "they're not doing right", "they're not doing correctly", "they're not doing it soon enough", etc. etc. etc. I swear, I think the MMO genre has the most unappreciative, overly self-entitled people in it of any I've ever experienced.

I think I'm going to start calling these people Veruca Salts. In fact, Charlie's reaction at the beginning is pretty much spot-on to what I'm thinking when I see yet another thread like this one.
