This is exactly what is happening on the endgame scene right now. The problem is you can turn on Cleric Stance and still get non-nerfed heals out AT THE SAME TIME you DPS because the fairy isn't tied to your character's GCD. And the fact that Scholar's DPS is mostly coming from DoTs makes it even more skewed as you can switch back to healing if needed and not lose the damage that AST or WHM would if they had to.

I love Scholar. I find it SUPER fun, my third favorite job in this game after AST and SMN; but honestly Square Enix made a big mistake having a pet job as a healer.

Yeah i know it was super risky but now we gotta do with it :/

AST -Spear needs to be reworked hard core, hell just make spear only good for AST, like it makes your next card triple( Aoe, extended, enhanced) enhanced or something. Put it on a 300 second CD an poof AST now has a perfect utility option, an all its cards are now nice to see in "Draw" or for the love of god just make spear give expanded Royal.

WHM - Needs some damn utility, any at all for god sakes. Make stone skin 2 a 300 second instacast CD an more powerful like 20% or something.

SCH - Needs a better regen, one on or off their pet. Remove most of the dmg it does from dots and move it to broil like WHM/AST. You don't get to go full on DPS and go back to healing without ruining your DPS, that is some BS.

At the very least make Stoneskin 2 available in combat. With its high MP cost, it won't be spammable and needs to be used strategically.

Sch do not need any more heals !! And you gotta understand that we cannot do anything about his dots since it also affects smn. You Just want all three healers to remain the same ?

Would making it so that WHM regen and AST Heal over time spells ignored cleric stance be enough to balance out the two of them with Scholars fairy? I've been told that WHM and AST dps is actuallly pretty good so they dont need much help there.

AST is already radically different from the other healers despite the sects slotting them into similar roles.
AST's 'differences' are not only the card system but also the way in which cooldowns for AST do MULTIPLE things. SCH and WHM CD's tend to do one thing and one thing only.

AST cooldowns: although it has less than the other healers do various things, meaning you have to be strategic and think what you want to use each for.

Lightspeed: Reduce MP cost AND Instant Cast
CO: Stun AND Extend buffs.
Synastry: Divine Seal effect AND the shared heal thing

And so on...so what I think I'd like is more stuff that does two or more things, why can't the AST 'fairy' be a temporary buff cd rather than a perma pet.

I wouldn't mind a fusion between Cure 3 and Indominability.... for example.

Yeah ast needs an Emergency aoe heal cd.
But a pseudo fairy ?...and nah it would useless to make ast/whm's regen ignoring CS, because sch should have way more facility to dps.
