Floating Character?

I've been playing for a few months now and noticed something very odd. Another player was hovering quite far above the ground, just standing on air while talking to a quest giver in Coerthas. He was a lalafell and likely reached to the giver's neck/head area.

This character also seemed to blink in and out of existence earlier with another quest giver (all in the MSQ in relative sequence). Note that there was no "invisible" terrain around as I know the engine works like that. This was out in the open, nothing to make it "look like" you were in the air by being near an edge or something.

Anyway, is this guy hacking? Or can lag/sync. issues do that? (my connection seemed fine). I reported him using the support feature just in case but am not really sure what was going on; didn't snap a screenshot.

Just wondering if I should post this as a bug, or if it is a "hack" and if that's the case at least I reported him... or maybe it is just weird lag/sync issues.

Sounds like a bot using a hack to me..

Ive never seen a "float hack", but it could be. I just off the top of my head cant think of what advantage that would give the bots. Ive seen the way they teleport around, ive seen them attack through terrain that prevents enemies from reaching them(literally inside a hill), and i report them every time i see them. Dont need or want those things playing our game.

LOL, ill always remember the 4 black mage bots standing around in the immortal flames grand company area in uldah, looking the exact same strait down to the same eye color.

Yeah, I suspect the floaty bit was just a side effect of whatever exploitation they were using to teleport around. Reporting is the right thing to do. In the event you find yourself inclined to do this a lot, there's a faster and more direct way to report them here:

did it look like they had a glowy sword or staff while floating? If so then it's from the new persistent Omega emotes.
